Kenny Chesney, born Kenneth Arnold Chesney on March 26, 1968, in Knoxville, Tennessee, is a celebrated American country music singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He grew up in the small town of Luttrell, where his love for music took root early on. Chesney taught himself to play guitar after receiving one as a Christmas present and soon began performing locally. While studying advertising at East Tennessee State University, he became active in the school’s bluegrass program, laying the foundation for his future career. After graduating in 1990, Chesney moved to Nashville, where he worked tirelessly to break into the country music scene. His persistence paid off when he signed with Capricorn Records and released his debut album, In My Wildest Dreams, in 1994.
