Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, professionally known as Oxlade, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter known for his soulful voice and unique Afro-fusion style. Born on April 22, 1997, in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria, Oxlade grew up with his father and grandmother after the loss of his mother when he was just three years old. His love for music began in church, where he honed his vocal abilities. Despite initially studying History and International Relations at Lagos State University, Oxlade decided to drop out to pursue his passion for music.

His breakthrough came in 2020 with the release of his single “Away,” which earned widespread acclaim and was featured on Rolling Stone’s list of the 50 best songs of the year. The song gained even more momentum after being shared by Drake on his Instagram, propelling it to international success. Oxlade’s 2022 hit, “Ku Lo Sa,” solidified his place in the music industry and earned him the title of Pandora Africa’s Next Artist in 2022.

Oxlade’s music blends elements of Afro-fusion, R&B, and alternative pop, and he is known for his powerful harmonies and signature falsetto. His work has earned him numerous accolades, including the All Africa Music Award for African Fan’s Favorite in 2022 and the Soundcity MVP Awards for Song of the Year in 2023.
