Ovi, born Ovidio Crespo on February 7, 1996, in Ciego de Ávila, Cuba, is a rising star in the Latin music scene, known for blending reggaetón, Latin trap, and corridos tumbados. He moved to Miami, Florida, to pursue his musical dreams, starting out as a kitchen assistant. His breakthrough came in 2019 with the release of tracks like “Se Me Dio” and “Bailen,” which helped him build a loyal following.

In 2020, Ovi’s collaboration with Natanael Cano on the hit track “Pacas Verdes” propelled him into the spotlight, earning him praise from major figures in the industry, including Bad Bunny. Later that year, Ovi released his debut album Amen, which featured collaborations with renowned artists like Gera MX and Junior H. His follow-up album, Buen Viaje, solidified his place in the regional urban movement, reflecting his Cuban roots and his unique fusion of Latin sounds.

Ovi’s music often touches on themes of resilience and overcoming challenges, resonating with a wide audience. Over the years, he has continued to grow his discography, with notable releases like Retumban2 in 2021 and Asere de Aseres in 2024.

However, Ovi’s career was temporarily marred by a road rage incident in Miami in April 2024, which resulted in felony charges for aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a controlled substance. He was held on a $6,500 bond with an immigration hold, but remains a prominent figure in the Latin music world.
