ONEFOUR

ONEFOUR is an influential Australian drill rap group that emerged from Mount Druitt, a suburb in Western Sydney, in 2014. Comprising J Emz, Spenny, Lekks, and Celly, ONEFOUR is celebrated as Australia’s first drill act, merging the UK drill sound with their own experiences from Sydney’s vibrant but often challenging community.

The members share a close bond, having grown up together in one of Sydney’s more disadvantaged neighborhoods. In addition to their musical career, they are also members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

ONEFOUR gained national attention in 2019 with their viral hit “The Message,” which amassed millions of views on YouTube within 48 hours. This success was followed by tracks like “In the Beginning,” showcasing their distinctive mix of UK drill beats and Australian street narratives. Their debut album Against All Odds, released in November 2020, debuted at number 7 on the ARIA Charts and number 8 in New Zealand, solidifying their presence in the Australian music scene.

However, the group has faced significant legal challenges. Their provocative lyrics, often seen as promoting violence, have drawn controversy, and the members have experienced multiple arrests. Despite these obstacles, their influence continues to grow, with their story featured in the Netflix documentary ONEFOUR: Against All Odds.

As of January 2025, member Dahcell “Celly” Ramos is serving an intensive correction order following a 2024 house party brawl. Despite the setbacks, ONEFOUR remains a powerful force in Australian drill music, continuing to shape the genre’s evolution.
