Normani

Normani Kordei Hamilton, known mononymously as Normani, is an American singer, dancer, and actress, born on May 31, 1996, in Atlanta, Georgia. Raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, she moved to Houston, Texas, following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. From a young age, she was immersed in dance, gymnastics, and beauty pageants, and began singing at just four years old. Normani’s music career took off when she joined the girl group Fifth Harmony after auditioning for The X Factor in 2012. The group went on to achieve massive success, becoming one of the best-selling girl groups of all time.

After Fifth Harmony went on hiatus in 2018, Normani launched her solo career. Her debut single, “Love Lies,” a collaboration with Khalid, became a hit, reaching the Top Ten on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning quintuple platinum status. She followed this success with the critically acclaimed singles “Waves” featuring 6lack and “Dancing with a Stranger” with Sam Smith. In 2024, Normani released her highly anticipated debut studio album, Dopamine, which showcases her growth as an artist, blending R&B and pop influences with themes of empowerment.

Normani has also made her mark in acting, starring in films such as Love, Simon (2018), Charlie’s Angels (2019), and Birds of Prey (2020). Beyond her career in music and acting, she is an advocate for various charitable causes and serves as a global ambassador for the American Cancer Society, using her platform to give back to the community.
