NLE Choppa

Bryson LaShun Potts, known professionally as NLE Choppa, is an American rapper from Memphis, Tennessee, born on November 1, 2002. He burst onto the music scene in 2019 with his electrifying single “Shotta Flow,” which quickly garnered widespread acclaim and achieved platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The track’s success was reflected in its peak within the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, establishing NLE Choppa as a rising star in the rap world.

Raised in Southeast Memphis, specifically in the Parkway Village area, Potts had a diverse cultural background with an African American father and a Jamaican mother. His early years were spent in the local community, where he attended Cordova High School and played basketball. His passion for music emerged at the age of 15 when he began freestyling with his friends. In 2023, NLE Choppa released his second studio album, Cottonwood 2, which featured his highest-charting single to date, “Slut Me Out,” remixed with Sexyy Red. The single showcased his signature “animated vocals” and energetic rapping style, which has been described as both “melodic” and “heavy-hitting.” His delivery, often characterized as “wild and rambunctious,” draws listeners in with its infectious energy.
