NiziU(니쥬)

NiziU is a nine-member Japanese girl group formed by JYP Entertainment through the reality survival show Nizi Project. Their name, pronounced as “Need You,” reflects the essential role of their fans in their success and journey.

The group consists of Mako (leader and main dancer), Rio (lead dancer and vocalist), Maya (lead vocalist and dancer), Riku (lead vocalist), Ayaka (vocalist and visual), Mayuka (rapper and vocalist), Rima (main rapper and vocalist), Miihi (main vocalist), and Nina (lead vocalist and the youngest member).

Before officially debuting, NiziU gained widespread attention with their pre-debut digital mini-album Make You Happy in June 2020. Their major debut followed on December 2, 2020, with the single Step and a Step, officially launching them into the J-pop industry.

In 2021, they released their first full-length studio album, U, further solidifying their popularity in Japan. By 2022, the group embarked on their first Japanese tour, Light it Up, followed by their first dome tour, Burn it Up, which drew an impressive 330,000 fans across six concerts at Tokyo Dome and Kyocera Dome Osaka.

Expanding beyond Japan, NiziU made their official Korean debut on October 30, 2023, with the single album Press Play, featuring the title track Heartris. This marked a major milestone in their career, showcasing their growing international presence.
