Nithyashree Venkataramanan

Nithyashree Venkataramanan, born on July 12, 1999, in Chennai, India, is a gifted Indian playback singer celebrated for her ability to blend the rich traditions of Carnatic music with modern musical styles. Her musical journey began remarkably early—by the age of five, she was already performing in her father’s band. With a deep-rooted passion for music, she trained under respected Carnatic gurus like Smt. Lakshmi Raman and Smt. Lalgudi Padmavathy Ananthagopalan, honing the classical foundation that would later shape her career.

Nithyashree first came into the limelight as a standout contestant in Airtel Super Singer Junior 2, where her soulful voice and emotive performances made her a fan favorite across Tamil Nadu. She later reached a national audience as a finalist on Indian Idol Junior 2, earning praise for her expressive and mature vocals at a young age.

She made her playback debut with the song “Oru Malayoram” in the film Avan Ivan, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, and has since contributed to multiple film projects. Notably, she lent her vocals to A.R. Rahman’s soundtrack for the movie I, adding another milestone to her growing resume.
