About NGC Daddy

NGC Daddy, born Alexsandro do Nascimento de Melo on March 6, 2002, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is a rising star in Brazil’s vibrant trap music scene. Growing up in the heart of Complexo do Alemão, one of Rio’s most culturally rich yet economically challenged favelas, he found early inspiration in pirated hip-hop DVDs—an unconventional education that sparked his love for music. What started as teenage experimentation with lyrics and beats quickly grew into a powerful voice that speaks to the realities of favela life, marked by raw honesty and streetwise storytelling.

His music career took off when he dropped “Love and Choppa” at just 16 years old—a breakout hit that went platinum and climbed to No. 67 on Apple Music Brazil. This success was no fluke. Follow-up tracks like “Glokada” and “Sangue Ruim” also earned him platinum and gold status, turning underground buzz into national recognition. His collaborations with major names in Brazilian rap, such as Filipe Ret on “La-La Gang” and Borges on the viral “Aonde Eu Sou Cria,” further proved his star power. In 2022, he released Real Underground, an album that not only reaffirmed his lyrical grit but also his ability to evolve artistically. As co-founder of NGC Records, he’s also using his platform to uplift emerging talent, reinforcing his role as both an artist and a mentor. With authenticity at his core, NGC Daddy continues to shape the sound and future of Brazilian trap.
