NERVO

NERVO is an Australian electronic music duo formed by twin sisters Miriam (“Mim”) and Olivia (“Liv”) Nervo. Born on February 18, 1982, in Melbourne, Victoria, the sisters began their careers as songwriters before evolving into powerhouse DJs. Their big break came in 2009 when they co-wrote the Grammy-winning single “When Love Takes Over” by David Guetta and Kelly Rowland, a chart-topping hit that garnered global attention.

Building on their success, NERVO signed a worldwide recording deal with Virgin Records/EMI Music in 2010. Their debut single, “This Kind of Love,” quickly climbed to No. 1 on the world club charts, solidifying their place in the music scene. Since then, they’ve collaborated with a range of high-profile artists, including Kylie Minogue, Ke$ha, The Pussycat Dolls, Afrojack, Steve Aoki, and Miley Cyrus, creating a dynamic and diverse catalog of music.

Beyond their musical achievements, NERVO has been celebrated for their advocacy in the music industry and beyond. In 2013, they ranked No. 16 in DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs poll, marking the highest ranking for female DJs that year. The duo also champions women’s representation in STEM fields, particularly in engineering and technology. They partnered with the University of New South Wales to inspire young women to explore careers in these areas, proving that their influence stretches beyond music.
