Ken-Y, born Kenny Vázquez on September 7, 1984, in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, is a celebrated reggaeton artist known for his smooth vocals and romantic ballads. He rose to fame as one half of the iconic duo R.K.M & Ken-Y, which was formed in 2003. The duo became known for blending reggaeton with elements of R&B and Latin pop, carving a unique niche in the Latin music scene. Their debut album, Masterpiece (2006), was a massive success, earning double Latin platinum status and featuring the hit single “Down,” which topped the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart and won Best Reggaeton Song at the Billboard Latin Music Awards.

After R.K.M & Ken-Y parted ways in 2013, Ken-Y launched a solo career, releasing his first album The King of Romance in 2016. The album, featuring collaborations with artists like Nicky Jam and Natti Natasha, quickly climbed to No. 1 on the Latin Rhythm Albums chart, further solidifying his place in reggaeton history.

In 2017, Ken-Y reunited with his former partner, José Nieves (R.K.M), to reform R.K.M & Ken-Y. They released new music and performed together, but by 2021, they announced another hiatus to focus on their individual projects. Ken-Y’s contributions to reggaeton, especially his heartfelt and romantic approach, have made him a significant figure in Latin music, with a lasting influence on the genre.
