About Mumford & Sons

Mumford & Sons are a British folk rock band formed in London in 2007. The group consists of Marcus Mumford (lead vocals, acoustic guitar, drums), Ben Lovett (vocals, keyboards, piano), Ted Dwane (vocals, double bass), and Winston Marshall (banjo, guitar, vocals). Their rise to fame began in the vibrant West London folk scene, where the members connected through mutual friends. Their energetic live performances and innovative fusion of traditional folk instruments with modern rock elements quickly made them stand out.

The band’s debut album, Sigh No More (2009), produced iconic tracks like “Little Lion Man” and “The Cave,” propelling them into international stardom. The album was critically acclaimed, winning the Brit Award for Best British Album in 2011 and earning multiple Grammy nominations.

Their sophomore album, Babel (2012), debuted at number one on the US charts and earned the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Mumford & Sons continued to evolve with Wilder Mind (2015), which marked a departure from their folk roots with a more rock-focused sound, and Delta (2018), which incorporated orchestral influences into their music.

After a brief hiatus, the band announced their fifth studio album, Rushmere, scheduled for release on March 28, 2025. The lead single, also titled “Rushmere,” was released in January 2025, signaling a return to their folk-rock origins.

Throughout their career, Mumford & Sons have garnered numerous accolades, including the Brit Award for Best British Group in 2013 and an Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement in 2014. Their journey from the folk scene to global stages has solidified their influence in modern music.
