Monaleo, born Leondra Roshawn Gay on April 24, 2001, in Houston, Texas, is an up-and-coming rapper and singer-songwriter who has quickly made a name for herself in the music industry. Raised in Houston, she attended The High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice before briefly studying at Prairie View A&M University. However, her passion for music led her to pursue it full-time, marking the beginning of a promising career.

Monaleo’s breakthrough came in early 2021 with the release of her debut single, “Beating Down Yo Block,” which cleverly sampled Yungstar’s “Knockin Pictures Off Da Wall.” The track quickly went viral, racking up millions of streams on platforms like Spotify and YouTube. She followed up this success with other singles such as “Girls Outside” and “Suck It Up,” further solidifying her distinct blend of hard-hitting lyrics and catchy melodies.

In May 2023, Monaleo released her highly anticipated debut studio album, Where the Flowers Don’t Die, featuring collaborations with artists like Flo Milli. Later that year, she dropped her EP Throwing Bows, which included guest features from Stunna 4 Vegas, Sauce Walka, and Kaliii.
