MISAMO

MiSaMo is the first official subunit of the popular South Korean girl group TWICE, formed under JYP Entertainment. The trio consists of the group’s three Japanese members—Momo Hirai, Sana Minatozaki, and Mina Myoi. Their name, MiSaMo, is a combination of the first syllables of their names, symbolizing their unity and shared artistic vision.

The subunit made its highly anticipated debut on July 26, 2023, with the release of their extended play (EP) Masterpiece. Before the official launch, they teased fans with the pre-release track Marshmallow on June 15, followed by their lead single Do Not Touch on July 14. To celebrate their debut, MiSaMo held a special showcase titled MiSaMo Japan Showcase ‘Masterpiece’, performing in Osaka and Yokohama for an audience of 40,000 excited fans.

After a successful debut, MiSaMo quickly established itself as a strong unit within the industry. In November 2023, they appeared in their first commercial as a trio for the Google app, promoting its Google Lens feature. They then performed Do Not Touch at the prestigious NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen in December. Their second EP, Haute Couture, was released on November 6, 2024. The music video for the lead single, Identity, was filmed in Spain, featuring breathtaking futuristic visuals set in Valencia and Lleida.

To support Haute Couture, MiSaMo embarked on their first dome tour, performing in major venues like Belluna Dome, Kyocera Dome Osaka, and Tokyo Dome, attracting 250,000 fans. This achievement made them the fastest female artists to hold a Tokyo Dome concert.

Looking ahead, MiSaMo will release a new single, Message, on April 28, 2025. The song has been chosen as the theme for the live-action adaptation of Blank Canvas: My So-Called Artist’s Journey, premiering in Japan on May 16, 2025.

MiSaMo’s success not only showcases the individual charm and talent of Mina, Sana, and Momo but also reinforces TWICE’s global influence. Their unique sound, stunning visuals, and deep connection with fans continue to make them one of the most exciting subunits in K-pop today.
