Mark Pritchard

Mark Pritchard, born April 15, 1971, in Yeovil, Somerset, England, is an acclaimed electronic musician recognized for his groundbreaking contributions to a variety of genres, including techno, ambient, drum and bass, and grime.

Pritchard’s music career began in the early 1990s when he teamed up with collaborator Tom Middleton to form the ambient duo Global Communication. Their 1994 album 76:14 became a landmark in the ambient genre, praised for its atmospheric and ethereal soundscapes. Under the alias Jedi Knights, they also ventured into funk and electro, most notably with tracks like “May The Funk Be With You.”

Throughout his career, Pritchard has used a number of aliases such as Harmonic 313, Reload, and Troubleman, each representing different facets of his musical explorations. His solo work, particularly from the 2010s onward, blends intricate electronic rhythms with rich, ambient melodies. Albums like Under the Sun (2016) and The Four Worlds (2018) showcase his innovative approach, earning widespread critical acclaim for their depth and experimental nature.

In 2025, Pritchard teamed up with Thom Yorke on the album Tall Tales, further solidifying his place as a trailblazer in electronic music. The project highlights his ability to push musical boundaries and reinforces his enduring influence in shaping the sound of contemporary electronic music.
