Makko, born Christoph Makowski, is a German musician who hails from Berlin but spent much of his early life in Fürstenwalde/Spree. From a young age, he was drawn to skateboarding, and his passion for the sport led him to share skateboarding videos on Instagram starting in 2014. It was through this platform that Makko began to connect with the music world, setting the stage for his eventual music career.

Initially pursuing a career as an occupational therapist, Makko made the bold decision to leave his studies behind and fully dedicate himself to music. In 2019, he made his musical debut with the single “Kühlpack,” featuring comedian Vincent Pfäfflin, known as Vini Paff. That same year, he released his first album, Leb es oder lass es. His music quickly gained traction, and in 2022, he collaborated with Miksu and Macloud on the track “Nachts wach,” which soared to the top of the German single charts.

Makko’s music blends elements of hip-hop and cloud rap, with lyrics that often reflect skate culture, as well as the personal struggles of his generation, including themes of self-doubt and societal pressures. His DIY approach to music has resonated with listeners, and his authentic style continues to evolve.

As part of the Bolo Boys collective, Makko collaborates with artists like Toobrokeforfiji, Sin Davis, and Okfella. His live performances at major festivals such as Openair Frauenfeld and Superbloom have further solidified his presence in the German music scene.
