About Lukas Graham
Lukas Forchhammer, born on September 18, 1988, in Copenhagen, Denmark, is the lead vocalist and frontman of the popular Danish pop band Lukas Graham. Raised in the unique and alternative community of Christiania, he also spent part of his childhood in Ireland, where his father was from, a cultural influence that would shape his musical journey. Lukas’ early passion for music saw him singing in the Copenhagen Boys Choir and even acting in Danish films during his youth, providing a foundation for his later career.
In 2011, Lukas formed Lukas Graham, and the band quickly garnered attention with their debut album. However, it was their 2015 release, Lukas Graham (Blue Album), that propelled them to international fame. The album featured the massive hit “7 Years,” which topped charts worldwide and earned the band several Grammy nominations.
Following the success of their earlier work, Lukas Graham released their follow-up, Lukas Graham (The Purple Album), in 2018, continuing their unique blend of soul-pop with introspective, personal lyrics. In 2020, Lukas Forchhammer ventured into a solo career, debuting with the single “Share That Love,” marking a new chapter in his musical evolution.
Beyond his career, Lukas has been open about his personal experiences, including the profound loss of his father, which deeply influenced much of his songwriting. His ability to blend personal storytelling with universal themes has made his music resonate with audiences globally.
