Elizabeth Catherine McAlpine, professionally known as Lizzy McAlpine, is an American singer-songwriter who has rapidly emerged as a distinctive voice in the indie pop and folk music scenes. She was born on September 21, 1999, in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. Lizzy grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia in Narberth, where she was raised by her parents, Mark McAlpine and Robin Lacey, alongside her sibling, Emma. Her early exposure to music came from her grandparents’ piano, and she began writing songs as early as sixth grade. During her time at Lower Merion High School, Lizzy honed her musical skills, participating in theater and singing in a co-ed a cappella group.

Lizzy’s passion for music led her to Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she studied songwriting.
