Little Big is a Russian punk-pop-rave band known for its energetic music, satirical humor, and outlandish music videos. Founded in Saint Petersburg in 2013 by musician Ilya “Ilich” Prusikin and videographer Alina Pasok, the band quickly gained attention for blending elements of pop, hip-hop, punk, and EDM with absurdist visuals that often poke fun at Russian culture.
Their debut video, “Every Day I’m Drinking,” dropped on April 1, 2013, setting the tone for their bold and provocative style. That same year, they performed their first live show, opening for the South African group Die Antwoord. Over the years, the band’s lineup has changed, with Ilya Prusikin and Sonya Tayurskaya currently leading the group.
Little Big’s first album, With Russia from Love (2014), was followed by Funeral Rave (2015), which reached No. 8 on the Russian iTunes charts. Their music videos have been viral sensations, with “Big Dick” and “LollyBomb” winning awards at the Berlin Music Video Awards. However, it was “Skibidi” (2018) that truly catapulted them to global fame, thanks to its bizarre yet catchy dance challenge that took social media by storm.
In 2020, Little Big was chosen to represent Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest with their song “UNO.” Though the event was canceled due to COVID-19, the music video became the most-watched Eurovision entry ever.
Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Prusikin and Tayurskaya relocated to Los Angeles, where they released “Generation Cancellation,” a strong anti-war statement criticizing those profiting from war.
Little Big has carved out a unique space in music by combining satire, high-energy beats, and over-the-top performances. Their ability to blend humor with social commentary has earned them a dedicated international following.
