Liniker de Barros Ferreira Campos, known simply as Liniker, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and actress whose music blends soul, MPB (Música Popular Brasileira), and Afro-Brazilian rhythms. Born on July 3, 1995, in Araraquara, São Paulo, she grew up in a household filled with music, heavily influenced by samba rock and the rich diversity of Brazilian sounds.
In 2015, Liniker burst onto the music scene with her band Liniker e os Caramelows, releasing the EP Cru. The single Zero became an internet sensation, introducing her powerful, emotive vocals and unique style to a wider audience. Following this early success, the band released Remonta (2016) and Goela Abaixo (2019), both critically acclaimed for their bold fusion of funk, soul, and Brazilian rhythms.
Beyond music, Liniker made her acting debut in 2021 as the lead in Amazon Prime Video’s September Mornings, where she portrayed Cassandra, a transgender woman navigating love and independence. That same year, she launched her solo career with Índigo Borboleta Anil, an album that not only showcased her artistic depth but also made history—Liniker became the first transgender artist to win a Latin Grammy in 2022.
In 2023, she achieved another milestone by becoming the first transgender artist inducted into the Brazilian Academy of Culture. More than just a musician, Liniker is a cultural icon, using her voice and artistry to celebrate diversity, Black identity, and LGBTQIA+ rights, inspiring a new generation in Brazil and beyond.
