About LE SSERAFIM

LE SSERAFIM (르세라핌), stylized in all caps, is a prominent South Korean girl group formed by Source Music. The group’s name, an anagram of “I’m Fearless,” reflects their ethos of self-confidence and determination. Comprising five members—Sakura, Kim Chae-won, Huh Yun-jin, Kazuha, and Hong Eun-chae—LE SSERAFIM initially debuted as a sextet but saw a change in lineup when Kim Ga-ram left on July 20, 2022, due to controversies.

The group’s journey began with a highly anticipated debut on May 2, 2022, with their extended play (EP) Fearless. This debut was historic, setting a record for the highest first-day sales by a K-pop girl group. The EP’s success was further solidified as its title track reached the top ten of South Korea’s Circle Digital Chart and achieved platinum certification for streaming in both South Korea and Japan. Following this, LE SSERAFIM’s second EP, Antifragile, released in October 2022, became their first project to sell over a million copies. It also marked them as the fastest K-pop girl group to debut on the US Billboard 200. Despite Kim Ga-ram’s departure amid controversies surrounding her, including accusations of bullying and misconduct, the group continued to thrive.

In 2023, LE SSERAFIM expanded their reach by making their Japanese debut with the single “Fearless,” featuring Japanese versions of their earlier hits and an original track, “Choices,” which became the theme song for the Japanese drama 3000 Yen: How to Enrich Life. Their first studio album, Unforgiven, was released on May 1, 2023, and became their first number-one album on the Circle Album Chart, as well as their first top-ten album on the Billboard 200. The album’s singles, including “Unforgiven” and “Eve, Psyche & the Bluebeard’s Wife,” performed well, reaching number two on South Korea’s charts and receiving gold certifications in Japan.

In addition to their musical achievements, LE SSERAFIM ventured into international promotions, with their English single “Perfect Night” (2023) becoming their first number-one song on the Circle Digital Chart. This track was part of a collaboration with Blizzard Entertainment for the promotion of Overwatch 2, and the group performed at BlizzCon in November 2023. They also released “Dresscode,” which was featured as the theme song for the Japanese live-action series adaptation of Sexy Tanaka-san.

LE SSERAFIM’s activities in 2024 included the release of their third EP, Easy, on February 19, followed by the English versions of its lead single and another track. Their performance at Coachella in April 2024, alongside Nile Rodgers, introduced a new song titled “1-800-Hot-N-Fun.” The group’s growing prominence was further recognized with an upcoming K-pop exhibit at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, scheduled for August 2024, showcasing performance gear from notable Hybe artists.

On August 5, 2024, LE SSERAFIM announced their fourth EP, Crazy, which was released on August 30. The EP’s title track and its English version were met with enthusiastic reception. With each release, LE SSERAFIM continues to establish themselves as a formidable force in the K-pop industry, known for their dynamic performances and ever-expanding international influence.
