Growing up in a musical environment, Kesha was deeply influenced by her mother, Pebe Sebert, a successful songwriter who co-wrote Dolly Parton’s iconic hit “Old Flames Can’t Hold a Candle to You.” From a young age, Kesha was immersed in the music world, attending recording sessions and live performances with her mother, which fueled her passion for singing and songwriting.

At 17, Kesha moved to Los Angeles to pursue her music career, eventually signing with Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Entertainment.
