Keith Wallen, born on February 24, 1980, in Shady Spring, West Virginia, is a talented American musician, singer, and songwriter recognized for his contributions to the alternative rock and post-grunge genres. He is best known as the rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist for the popular rock band Breaking Benjamin, a role he has held since 2014. Before his time with Breaking Benjamin, Wallen had already established himself in the rock scene. He was a member of the band Adelitas Way from 2009 to 2013, contributing to their debut album and the follow-up Home School Valedictorian. His musical journey began even earlier when he co-founded the band Copper. As the lead vocalist and guitarist, Copper’s debut album, Exchange, garnered attention, particularly with singles like “By Now” and “Turn.” This experience set the foundation for his later success in larger projects.
In addition to his work with various bands, Wallen has co-written songs for other renowned artists, including Saint Asonia, Love and Death, Red, Fuel, and Saving Abel. His songwriting talents extend beyond his own projects, demonstrating his versatility and widespread influence in the rock music community.
As a solo artist, Wallen made his mark with the release of his debut EP Allies in 2014, followed by his first full-length album This World or the Next in 2021. In 2024, he released his second solo album, Infinity Now, via Rise Records. Wallen continues to captivate audiences with his distinctive sound, both in his solo work and as part of Breaking Benjamin, solidifying his place as a respected figure in the rock music world.
