About Kase.O

Javier Ibarra Ramos, better known by his stage name Kase.O, is a legendary figure in the Spanish hip-hop scene. Born on March 1, 1980, in Zaragoza, Spain, he discovered his passion for rap at the young age of 13, inspired by his older brother Brutal. Early in his career, Kase.O released underground demos like Rompecabezas (1994) and Dos Rombos (1995), which began to shape his distinctive voice in Spanish rap. He later co-founded the groundbreaking group Violadores del Verso, alongside Lírico, Sho-Hai, and DJ R de Rumba. The group gained a massive following and helped define the golden era of Spanish rap with a string of influential releases between the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Following the group’s hiatus, Kase.O reinvented himself as a solo artist. In 2011, he released Jazz Magnetism, an experimental project that fused rap with live jazz instrumentation, showing his willingness to push genre boundaries. His 2016 album El Círculo marked a turning point, revealing a more introspective and emotionally raw side. The album tackled personal battles, mental health, and philosophical questions, earning critical acclaim and a Latin Grammy nomination. With his poetic lyricism, powerful delivery, and fearless creativity, Kase.O has become a cultural icon in Spanish-language hip-hop—respected not just for his musical talent but for his authenticity and depth as an artist.
