About Jutes

Jutes, born Jordan Lutes on March 28, 1991, in Ottawa, Canada, is an artist who has quickly made his mark in the pop, alternative, and indie music scenes. Growing up on a farm in Kars, Ontario, surrounded by 300 acres of forest, Jutes initially found himself drawn to basketball and filmmaking. It wasn’t until his college years that he discovered his true passion for music.

After relocating to Toronto, Jutes adopted his stage name and began crafting a distinct sound that blends elements of contemporary rap, R&B, and alt-pop. His early works, including the albums Overrated and A Really Bad Dream, were released in 2020 under Capitol Records. However, seeking more creative freedom, Jutes chose to part ways with the label and pursue an independent music career.

His breakthrough came through his collaboration with Demi Lovato, co-writing the tracks “Substance” and “City of Angels” for her album Holy Fvck. The professional partnership eventually blossomed into a personal relationship, and the couple got engaged in December 2023.

Alongside his music career, Jutes is open about his journey with sobriety, having been sober for over two years. He continues to manage challenges like imposter syndrome and anxiety, striving to overcome them without returning to old habits.

Jutes’s evolving sound and heartfelt lyrics are available on various streaming platforms, where listeners can experience his raw and authentic artistic expression.
