Jane Remover, born on September 26, 2003, in Newark, New Jersey, is a pioneering American artist known for her innovative contributions to contemporary music. Raised in Clark, New Jersey, she later moved to Chicago, where she currently resides.
Her musical journey began at a young age, drawing inspiration from dubstep producers like Skrillex and Virtual Riot. By 2019, Jane was already creating original work, leading to the release of her debut EP Teen Week in 2021 under the alias dltzk. The EP stood out for its unique fusion of electronic dance music and introspective lyricism.
In November 2021, Jane released her first full-length album Frailty, which marked a significant shift in her sound and earned critical acclaim, including a spot on Pitchfork’s list of the best albums of 2021. In June 2022, she adopted the moniker Jane Remover, signaling a new phase in her artistic evolution.
Exploring further boundaries, Jane, under the alias leroy, created the microgenre dariacore, characterized by energetic mashups and eclectic media samples. Her album Dariacore (2021) was a breakthrough, blending hyperpop influences with cultural references. This exploration continued with sequels Dariacore 2 and Dariacore 3.
In 2023, Jane released Ghostholding under the name venturing, which fused midwestern emo with raw guitar riffs, reflecting themes of loneliness and introspection. Known for her independence in both production and songwriting, she crafts her work from her childhood bedroom, showcasing her dedication to authenticity and musical innovation.
