Jasmin Fazlić, known professionally as Jala Brat, is a Bosnian rapper, songwriter, and producer born on October 16, 1986, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Renowned for his unique blend of turbo-folk and hip-hop, Jala Brat has established himself as a prominent figure in the regional music scene, fusing traditional Balkan sounds with contemporary urban music.
Jala Brat began his musical career in the early 2000s, initially recording demo songs in his home studio. He co-founded the hip-hop group BluntBylon in Sarajevo and later set up the Red Eye Vision studio in Vogošća, which became a key hub for his music production. His breakthrough came in 2014 with the album Pakt s Đavolom, a collaboration with fellow artist Buba Corelli, which brought them widespread recognition in the Balkans.
In 2016, Jala Brat gained international exposure when he represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm. He co-wrote and performed the song “Ljubav je” with Dalal Midhat, Deen, and Ana Rucner, though the song did not make it to the final.
Throughout his career, Jala Brat has released several successful albums, including Kruna (2016), Alfa & Omega (2019), and Goat Season: Final Chapter (2024). His collaborations with top artists such as Maya Berović, Severina, and RAF Camora have further cemented his place in the music industry. Known for his ability to merge Balkan music traditions with modern hip-hop, Jala Brat remains a key player in shaping the contemporary music landscape of the region.
