Jason Terrance Phillips, better known by his stage name Jadakiss, is an influential American rapper and songwriter born on May 27, 1975, in Yonkers, New York. Jadakiss developed a passion for rapping at a young age, starting out in street freestyle battles when he was just 12 years old. In the mid-1990s, he co-founded the legendary hip-hop trio The Lox alongside Styles P and Sheek Louch. The group’s debut album, Money, Power & Respect (1998), was released under Bad Boy Records, followed by We Are the Streets (2000) under Ruff Ryders Entertainment, both of which helped solidify their place in East Coast hip-hop.

Jadakiss launched his solo career with Kiss Tha Game Goodbye (2001), which featured collaborations with big names like Snoop Dogg and Nas. However, it was his second album, Kiss of Death (2004), that truly catapulted him into stardom, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200. The album’s standout single, “Why?” featuring Anthony Hamilton, became an anthem addressing deep socio-political issues, showcasing Jadakiss’s ability to blend raw street storytelling with powerful commentary.
