Isabella Lovestory is a vibrant, Honduran-born, Montreal-based pop and reggaeton artist known for her maximalist approach to music and performance. Born Isabella Rodríguez Rivera on November 30, 1993, in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, she moved to Virginia at the age of 13 before ultimately settling in Montreal. It was there, in 2018, that she began creating music, initially as a fun project for her cat.
Lovestory’s music is a fusion of reggaeton, electropop, and perreo-pop, with a focus on themes of sexual liberation, empowerment, and unabashed joy. Her debut album, Amor Hardcore (2022), produced in collaboration with Chicken, received critical acclaim and was longlisted for the 2023 Polaris Music Prize. The album features standout tracks like “Golosa,” “Mariposa,” and “Cherry Bomb,” which showcase her unique style — blending seductive lyrics with infectious beats that have become her signature.
In 2023, Lovestory made waves with the release of “Fuetazo,” a collaboration with Puerto Rican rapper Villano Antillano, which was featured on Pitchfork’s weekly playlist.
