Hamza Namira, born on November 15, 1980, in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, is a highly influential Egyptian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, celebrated for his socially conscious music and profound impact on modern Arabic culture.

Raised in Alexandria, Egypt, Hamza developed an early love for music, teaching himself to play instruments such as the guitar, keyboard, and oud. In 1999, he joined the band Nomaira, where he began to compose his own songs. He later pursued a degree in commerce from Alexandria University, graduating in 2003.

Namira made his breakthrough in 2008 with the release of his debut album, Ehlam Ma’aya (Dream With Me), which showcased his ability to blend traditional Arabic music with contemporary sounds. His second album, Insan (Human), released in 2011, gained significant attention during the Egyptian revolution, with its powerful themes of hope and change resonating deeply with listeners amid the social and political upheaval.
