GRM Daily

GRM Daily, originally known as Grime Daily, is a groundbreaking British urban music platform that has had a significant impact on the UK’s grime, rap, and hip-hop scenes. Founded in 2009 by Koby “Posty” Hagan, Matt “Sketchy” Thorne, and Pierre Godson-Amamoo, the platform was created to offer emerging artists a place to showcase their talents and reach wider audiences.

In its early days, Grime Daily focused on uploading classic grime DVDs and videos. However, as the platform gained popularity, the founders realized the need for original content. They shifted their focus to producing exclusive interviews and performances, quickly carving out a distinct voice within the urban music community. In 2012, the platform rebranded as GRM Daily to reflect its expanded focus, covering not only grime but also UK drill, afroswing, trap, and British hip-hop.

GRM Daily has played an essential role in launching the careers of numerous artists, including Stormzy, Skepta, J Hus, and Aitch. Its popular “Daily Duppy” series, featuring freestyle tracks, has been a powerful tool for artists to gain exposure. Many of these freestyles have gone on to chart on the UK Singles Chart and receive certifications from the British Phonographic Industry.

Beyond its musical contributions, GRM Daily has also made its mark in events and awards, launching the Rated Awards in 2015 to honor UK urban music.
