Grant Perez, professionally known as Grentperez, is a Filipino-Australian singer and songwriter born on December 4, 2001, in Sydney, Australia. Growing up as the youngest of three siblings, he was immersed in music from a young age, with his father introducing him to legendary artists like The Eagles, The Beatles, and Queen. This early exposure shaped his musical taste and sparked his passion for creating music.

Grentperez’s musical journey began at the age of 12 when he started posting guitar covers and original songs on YouTube. His channel quickly gained traction, amassing over 100 million views and 600,000 subscribers, solidifying his place in the music world early on.

In September 2021, Grentperez released his debut single, “Cherry Wine,” which went on to achieve Gold certification from the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). The track also topped Spotify’s Viral 50 charts in countries such as Australia, Canada, and Singapore. This success propelled him into the spotlight.

Grentperez has since released several EPs, including Demo(s) About Love (2021), Conversations with the Moon (2022), Trail Mix Tape EP (2022), and When We Were Younger (2023), a collaboration with Cavetown. His 2023 North American “growing up?” tour further solidified his presence in the music industry.

In 2024, he was honored with the Emerging Songwriter of the Year award at the APRA Music Awards. Grentperez is now preparing for the release of his debut studio album, Backflips in a Restaurant, set for release in March 2025, continuing to captivate global audiences with his unique blend of indie pop and R&B.
