Caskey

Brandon Robert Caskey, professionally known as Caskey, is an American rapper born on August 28, 1992, in Winter Springs, Florida. Growing up, he was influenced by a mix of heavy metal and rap music, thanks to his older sister who introduced him to iconic groups like N.W.A and Three 6 Mafia. Caskey’s interest in music deepened, and he began writing his own raps during his sophomore year of high school.

Caskey’s early mixtapes, Blowin’ Out My Mind Vol. 1 and The Intangibles, helped him gain attention in the underground scene. In 2011, he collaborated with the Orlando-based production team, The Avengerz, on his mixtape Homegrown. His breakout moment came in 2012 when his mixtape No Complaints caught the eye of Birdman, the CEO of Cash Money Records, leading to a significant signing. Caskey made history as the first and only Caucasian rapper on the label.

In 2015, Caskey released his debut studio album, Black Sheep 2, which was met with critical acclaim for its introspective lyrics and solidified his place in hip-hop. After parting ways with Cash Money in 2020, Caskey continued his career independently, collaborating with Alabama rapper Yelawolf on the album Yelawolf Black Sheep in 2021.

In 2023, Caskey released Cadillac Music, a deeply personal album reflecting his struggles and growth. The lead single, “Dixie,” serves as a heartfelt apology to his mother for past hardships. Through his raw, honest storytelling, Caskey has earned a loyal fan base and continues to resonate with listeners.
