About Giorgia
Giorgia Todrani, known simply as Giorgia, is one of Italy’s most beloved and powerful voices. Born on April 26, 1971, in Rome, she began her musical journey performing jazz standards in local clubs, drawing early inspiration from greats like Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha Franklin. With her extraordinary four-octave range and emotional depth, she quickly stood out, earning comparisons to vocal legends such as Whitney Houston and Mina.
Her big break came in 1994 at the Sanremo Music Festival with the song E poi, which introduced her to a national audience and marked the beginning of her recording career. Just a year later, she won Sanremo with Come saprei, a song co-written with Eros Ramazzotti, cementing her place in the Italian music scene. That success led to the release of Come Thelma & Louise, one of her best-selling albums.
Throughout her career, Giorgia has released ten acclaimed studio albums and sold over 25 million records worldwide. Her work blends pop, soul, and R&B with deeply personal lyrics, often inspired by her own life experiences. One of her most touching songs, Gocce di memoria, was written in memory of her late partner, singer Alex Baroni, and became the theme for the award-winning film Facing Windows.
In recent years, she’s continued to captivate audiences, returning to Sanremo in 2023 and again in 2025 with La cura per me, which became her best-selling single. Also stepping into acting, Giorgia received praise for her performance in the 2023 film Scordato. With a career defined by artistry and authenticity, Giorgia remains a cherished figure in Italian music.
