G Jones, born Gregory Jones on December 16, 1991, in Santa Cruz, California, is an electronic music producer and DJ known for his boundary-pushing approach to bass music. Growing up, he was drawn to alternative rock bands like Nirvana and The Smashing Pumpkins, but his passion for music production took shape during his teenage years. Experimenting with GarageBand, he layered guitar and drum tracks before diving into electronic production, where he discovered his true calling.

Initially performing under the moniker “Grizzly J,” he refined his sound and rebranded as G Jones, quickly gaining recognition for his intricate sound design and genre-defying compositions. Fusing elements of bass, glitch, dubstep, trap, and IDM, he developed a signature style that caught the attention of industry heavyweights. Collaborations with Amon Tobin, Eprom, and DJ Shadow—who once called him “the most gifted Ableton beatmaker I’ve ever seen”—helped cement his reputation as an innovator in electronic music.

In 2018, G Jones released The Ineffable Truth, an album praised for its complexity, emotion, and forward-thinking production. His follow-up album, Paths, released in 2023, continued his sonic evolution, solidifying his status as a leader in experimental bass music. His live performances, which blend mind-bending visuals with meticulously crafted soundscapes, have made him a festival favorite, gracing stages at Red Rocks, Shambhala, Lightning in a Bottle, and Burning Man.
