G Herbo

Herbert Randall Wright III, better known as G Herbo, is a well-established American rapper and songwriter born on October 8, 1995, in Chicago, Illinois. He initially entered the music scene as Lil Herb in his teens, growing up in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, where he was influenced by hip-hop legends like Meek Mill, Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Yo Gotti, and Lil Wayne. Close friends with rapper Lil Bibby, G Herbo is part of the group N.L.M.B. (Never Leave My Brothers), which has become a cornerstone of his career.

At 16, G Herbo signed with Machine Entertainment Group, and in 2014, he dropped his debut mixtape Welcome to Fazoland, named in honor of his late friend Fazon Robinson. The mixtape was praised for its raw, emotional lyrics within the drill music scene. He continued to build momentum with Pistol P Project (2014), Ballin Like I’m Kobe (2015), and Strictly 4 My Fans (2016).

G Herbo’s debut studio album, Humble Beast (2017), was a critical success, marking his growth as an artist. His collaboration with producer Southside on Swervo (2018) and its sequel Still Swervin (2019) solidified his place in the game. His 2020 album PTSD hit the top ten on the Billboard 200, followed by 25 (2021) and Survivor’s Remorse (2022). In 2024, he released Big Swerv, further expanding his legacy.

Outside of music, G Herbo is deeply committed to giving back. In 2018, he helped redevelop Anthony Overton Elementary School in Chicago, providing resources for aspiring artists. He also launched the “Swervin’ Through Stress” initiative in 2020, offering mental health resources for Black youth. From the streets of Chicago to national acclaim, G Herbo’s journey is a testament to perseverance and dedication in the hip-hop industry.
