About Fuerza Regida

Fuerza Regida, an American regional Mexican music group, was formed in 2015 by Jesús Ortiz Paz (vocals), Samuel Jáimez (twelve-string guitar), Khrystian Ramos (harmony guitar), and José García (tuba). In 2021, Moisés López joined the band, adding the tololoche to their lineup. The group, rooted in San Bernardino, California, has Mexican heritage and draws inspiration from artists like Ariel Camacho, Sons of Barrón, and even the rock band Metallica. Initially, they played covers for fun at local parties before creating a YouTube channel in 2017 to upload their performances, which eventually gained them a large following.

Their popularity skyrocketed in 2018 when their track “Radicamos en South Central” went viral on YouTube. This success caught the attention of Ramón Ruiz from Legado 7, who offered them a contract with Lumbre Music and Rancho Humilde. The band’s first live album, En Vivo Puros Corridos, released in 2018, featured singles like “Soy Montero” and “Dos Plumas.” This was followed by their debut studio album, Del Barrio Hasta Aquí, in July 2019, which became their first top 10 entry on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart and earned double platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Fuerza Regida continued to release a series of successful albums, including Pisteando con la Regida in December 2019, followed by Pisteando con la Regida, Vol. 2 in January 2020. Their second studio album, Adicto, released in April 2020, showcased a new sound and included collaborations with artists like Gerardo Ortiz and Natanael Cano. The album was highly successful, reaching the top 5 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart. Later that year, they released their third studio album, Otro Pedo, Otro Mundo, which continued to solidify their status in the regional Mexican music scene.

In November 2020, the group released a Christmas album, Navidad con la Regida, featuring a mix of classic Christmas songs and an original track, “24 de Diciembre.” They also released Pisteando con la Regida, Vol. 3, their fourth live album, in December 2020. In 2021, the band left Lumbre Music and launched their own label, Street Mob Records, continuing their collaboration with Rancho Humilde. Their fifth studio album, Del Barrio Hasta Aquí, Vol. 2, was released at the end of 2021, achieving significant success on the charts.

Fuerza Regida’s success extended into 2022 with a series of hit singles, including “Chingas a tu Madre,” “1000 Canciones (Pa Mis Viejos),” and “Señor Miedo,” which went viral on social media. Their collaboration with Grupo Frontera on the single “Bebé Dame” marked their debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, reaching position 25. The group has been recognized with numerous award nominations, including iHeartRadio Music Awards, Premios Billboard Latino, Premios Lo Nuestro, and Premios Juventud.

Today, Fuerza Regida stands as one of the most influential and popular groups in regional Mexican music, known for their modern twist on traditional sounds and their ability to resonate with audiences across the United States and beyond.
