About Fred again..

Fred again.., born Frederick John Philip Gibson on July 19, 1993, in Balham, London, is a prominent British record producer, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and DJ. He is known for his innovative approach to music production and his ability to blend personal experiences with unique soundscapes. Gibson’s rise to fame can be attributed to his versatility and extensive collaborations with renowned artists, including George Ezra, Clean Bandit, Rita Ora, and Ed Sheeran.

Growing up in a family with a strong connection to the arts, Fred was exposed to music early in life. He attended the prestigious Marlborough College in Wiltshire, England, from 2006 to 2011. It was during his teenage years that Fred’s musical journey began to take shape. At the age of 16, he joined an a cappella group at the London studio of renowned producer Brian Eno, who was a family neighbor at the time. This connection led to Fred’s first notable collaborations, including working as a co-producer and songwriter on Eno’s albums Someday World and High Life in 2014. That same year, he participated in the Red Bull Music Academy in Tokyo, Japan, which further expanded his musical horizons.

Fred gained widespread recognition in 2018, thanks to his involvement in co-writing George Ezra’s hit song “Shotgun,” which reached Number 1 on the UK charts and stayed in the top 3 for 12 consecutive weeks. This success was followed by his contributions to Clean Bandit’s “Solo,” featuring Demi Lovato, and Rita Ora’s “Let You Love Me.” In 2019, Fred was also credited with producing and writing 12 of the 15 tracks on Ed Sheeran’s No.6 Collaborations Project, which included songs that topped the charts for weeks. His success in the music industry led to him being awarded the title of Producer of the Year at the 2020 Brit Awards, making him the youngest producer to ever win the prestigious honor.

Fred’s personal and innovative approach to music production is most evident in his Actual Life series, which he began in 2019. The project involves collecting samples from personal voice memos, social media, and music by other artists, creating a “collaborative diary” of sorts. The first album, Actual Life (April 14 – December 17 2020), was released in 2021 and reflected Fred’s experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. He followed up with Actual Life 2 (February 2 – October 15 2021) later that year. These albums gained critical acclaim for their emotive depth and experimental nature.

In July 2022, Fred performed a standout set at Boiler Room in London, which marked a turning point in his career, propelling him into the global spotlight. He also released the single “Turn On the Lights again..” with Swedish House Mafia, which became a massive hit. His third album, Actual Life 3 (January 1 – September 9 2022), was released in October 2022, featuring singles like “Danielle (Smile on My Face)” and “Clara (The Night Is Dark).” Fred’s debut tour, which spanned from October 2022 to February 2023, sold out across 15 dates in Europe, America, New Zealand, and Australia.

Fred’s impact on the electronic and dance music scenes continues to grow, with numerous collaborations and performances, including his appearance at Coachella in 2023 and his ongoing work with Skrillex, Four Tet, and other industry leaders. His blend of experimental production and emotional depth has earned him widespread acclaim, making him one of the most exciting and innovative artists of his generation.
