About Eslabón Armado
Eslabón Armado is a Mexican-American group that has left a lasting mark on regional Mexican music with their signature sierreño sound. Formed in 2017 in Patterson, California, the group originally featured brothers Pedro Tovar (lead vocalist and songwriter) and Brian Tovar (bass and bajoloche), alongside their friend Gabriel Hidalgo (harmony and background vocals). Inspired by the music their parents played at home, they started performing norteño and sierreño songs, sharing their talent through YouTube and TikTok. Their rising popularity eventually led them to sign with DEL Records, thanks to the attention of music executive Ángel del Villar.
The trio’s breakthrough came in 2020 with their singles Con Tus Besos and La Trokita, both of which climbed the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. That same year, they released three successful albums: Tu Veneno Mortal, Vibras de Noche, and Corta Venas, all of which reached No. 1 on the Regional Mexican Albums chart. Following these milestones, Gabriel Hidalgo left the group.
The Tovar brothers continued as a duo and dropped Tu Veneno Mortal, Vol. 2 in mid-2021. Later that year, Ulises González joined, making them a trio once again. Their collaboration with DannyLux, Jugaste y Sufrí, landed on the Billboard Hot 100, introducing their music to a wider audience.
By 2022, the group welcomed Damián Pacheco and released Nostalgia, a game-changing album that made history as the first regional Mexican album to break into the Billboard 200’s top 10. With their heartfelt lyrics and fresh take on the genre, Eslabón Armado continues to shape the future of Latin music.
