Emotional Oranges

Emotional Oranges is a Los Angeles-based R&B/pop duo celebrated for their mysterious image and genre-defying sound. Formed in 2017, the group brings together Azad “A” Right, a skilled audio engineer who previously worked with Drake, and Vali “V” Porter, a talented vocal coach with ties to Adele. Their creative journey began after a chance encounter at a bat mitzvah, sparking a musical partnership that would lead to their distinct, soulful style.

They made their official debut in May 2018 with the single “Motion,” which quickly gained traction and was even featured as the theme song for RuPaul’s Drag Race. Building on that early success, Emotional Oranges released their first album, The Juice: Vol. I, in 2019, followed by The Juice: Vol. II later that same year — both albums capturing their vibrant blend of R&B, pop, and neo-soul influences.

Known for embracing collaboration, the duo has worked with artists like Vince Staples, Channel Tres, Kiana Ledé, and Becky G. Their 2021 mixtape, The Juicebox, spotlighted these partnerships and showcased their adventurous spirit, constantly pushing the boundaries of their sound.

Choosing to keep their identities somewhat under wraps, Emotional Oranges often perform wearing masks, putting the spotlight squarely on their music. Inspired by the likes of The Weeknd and Lauryn Hill, they combine groovy basslines, jazzy guitar riffs, and smooth vocals to create a refreshing, modern twist on classic R&B — earning them a loyal and ever-growing global fanbase.
