Taha Fahssi, better known by his stage name ElGrandeToto, was born on August 3, 1996, in Casablanca, Morocco. He has quickly risen to prominence as one of the most influential figures in the Moroccan hip-hop scene, thanks to his distinctive blend of Darija (Moroccan Arabic), French, Spanish, and English in his music.

ElGrandeToto’s journey into music began in 2016, but it was his 2017 track “Pablo” that truly catapulted him to fame. His sound, which combines traditional North African rhythms with modern hip-hop influences, continued to evolve with the release of his debut EP Illicit in 2018. However, it was his debut album Caméléon, released in 2021, that marked a major milestone in his career, ranking among the top six global album debuts on Spotify. This success earned him the title of the most-streamed artist in the MENA region in 2021, with over 135 million streams across 178 countries.

ElGrandeToto’s influence stretches beyond Morocco. He has worked with international artists like Nigerian Afrobeats sensation CKay, contributing to the remix of the hit song “Love Nwantiti,” which went on to achieve Diamond certification in France. In 2024, ElGrandeToto earned three awards at the inaugural Billboard Arabia Awards, including Artist of the Year for Arabic Hip-Hop.
