Elcamino, born in Buffalo, New York, is a rapper known for his raw East Coast hip-hop sound. He moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, at the age of nine, where he began his musical journey. By 2007, he had returned to Buffalo, adopting the name Meechy Elcamino and becoming a key member of the Local Residents rap collective.

In 2015, Elcamino released a series of mixtapes, including Doxa, The Natural, and 1996, which demonstrated his evolving style and growing presence in the rap scene. His 2018 self-titled debut album gained significant attention, leading to collaborations with members of the Griselda Records collective. While Elcamino isn’t officially signed to Griselda, he remains closely associated with the label, contributing to various projects alongside Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine, and Benny the Butcher.

In 2023, Elcamino dropped They Spit on Jesus under Benny the Butcher’s Black Soprano Family imprint, a milestone in his career that solidified his standing in the underground rap scene. The following year, in 2024, he released the EP Millionaire, showcasing his signature blend of boom-bap beats and introspective lyrics.
