Ecco2K, born Zak Arogundade Gaterud on October 23, 1994, is a British-Swedish artist known for his boundary-pushing approach to music, fashion, and visual art. Raised in Stockholm’s Hornstull neighborhood, his creative path began early—his father, a British-Nigerian designer and writer, introduced him to graphic design when he was just five years old. That early influence planted the seeds for a lifelong exploration of style and identity.
In his teens, Ecco2K co-founded the punk band Krossad with Bladee, a longtime friend and collaborator. This partnership evolved into the formation of Drain Gang—an avant-garde collective also featuring Bladee, Thaiboy Digital, and producer Whitearmor. Together, they’ve become icons in the underground scene, known for their dreamy, genre-defying soundscapes.
His solo debut, E (2019), marked a turning point. Recorded across cities like Stockholm, Berlin, and Bangkok, the album weaves together cloud rap, ambient textures, and glitchy pop into a deeply introspective journey. Songs like “Peroxide” and “Security!” showcase Ecco2K’s ethereal voice and fearless vulnerability.
In 2021, he self-produced the EP PXE, pushing further into experimental territory. The following year, he and Bladee released Crest, an emotionally charged album blending futuristic pop with themes of love and transcendence.
Outside of music, Ecco2K has left his mark in fashion, founding the brand g’LOSS and working with Swedish label Eytys. He’s also a visual artist and video director, known for crafting surreal, striking visuals that mirror his sonic world.
