Guetta’s career began in Paris, where he started DJing at local clubs in the 1980s. His early work included the 1987 release “Nation Rap,” a collaboration with French rapper Sidney Duteil. By the mid-1990s, Guetta was playing at major Parisian clubs, and in 2001, he co-founded Gum Productions.
