Daoko (ダヲコ), born on March 4, 1997, in Tokyo, Japan, is an innovative artist known for her eclectic mix of rap, pop, and electronic music. Her journey into music began at the age of 15, when she started uploading rap tracks on Nico Nico Douga under the name “daoko.” Her early work quickly caught the attention of the indie label LOW HIGH WHO? PRODUCTION, which led to the release of her debut album Hyper Girl in 2012. By 2015, Daoko signed with Toy’s Factory, marking a major step in her career.

Daoko’s breakthrough came in 2017 with her collaboration on the song “Uchiage Hanabi” (Fireworks) with Kenshi Yonezu. Featured in the anime Fireworks, the track gained massive popularity, amassing over 400 million views on YouTube and topping music charts in Japan, earning her numerous accolades. Following this success, Daoko contributed to several anime soundtracks, including Rage of Bahamut: Virgin Soul and Sailor Moon Cosmos, while continuing to release original albums, solidifying her presence in Japan’s music scene.

In 2023, Daoko formed a band called QUBIT with veteran musicians, pushing her creative boundaries and exploring new musical landscapes. Their debut album 9BIT was released in November 2023, with the single “Contact” featured on NHK’s Minnna no Uta.

Beyond music, Daoko has expanded her artistic talents into novel writing, visual art, and acting. In 2022, she made her acting debut in the film adaptation of xxxHOLiC. Known for her versatility and artistic depth, Daoko continues to captivate audiences with her unique approach to music and the arts.
