About D-Block Europe

D-Block Europe, often abbreviated as DBE, is a prominent British hip-hop collective originating from Lewisham, South East London. The group consists of Adam Nathaniel “Young Adz” Williams and Ricky Earl “Dirtbike LB” Banton. Their journey began in 2014 when they started releasing tracks on their own label, having been co-signed by Jadakiss, who launched the European branch of his record label D-Block Records, hence the name D-Block Europe.

The duo initially gained attention through a series of successful singles, including “Large Amounts,” “Darling,” and “Nasty.” Their distinct blend of melodic rap and streetwise lyrics resonated with a growing fanbase, setting the stage for their breakthrough in the UK hip-hop scene. However, it wasn’t until 2017 that they truly rose to fame, building a reputation for their prolific output and engaging content.

D-Block Europe’s debut album, “The Blue Print: Us vs. Them,” was released on October 16, 2020, and reached number two on the UK Albums Chart. This success was followed by their collaboration with Central Cee on “Overseas,” which debuted inside the Top 10 on November 26, 2021. Before this, DBE held the record for the most hits without a top 10, managing to chart 29 singles into the UK top 75.

Their second album, “Lap 5,” also achieved significant success, reaching number two on the UK Albums Chart on September 30, 2022. DBE continued to build their legacy with notable collaborations and singles. They achieved their second top-10 single on the UK Singles Chart with Clavish’s “Rocket Science,” which peaked at number nine in November 2022. In June 2023, they released “Pakistan,” which reached number eight on the UK Singles Chart, marking their third top-10 single.

Following the success of “Pakistan,” DBE released their mixtape “DBE World,” which peaked at number six on the UK Albums Chart. This achievement made them the rap act with the most top-ten albums in UK history. Their subsequent release, “Prada,” a remixed version of “Ferrari Horses,” became their highest-charting single, reaching number two on the UK Singles Chart and topping charts in several countries including Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Sweden.

The origins of D-Block Europe can be traced back to 2010 when Young Adz first began creating music. Ricky Earl “Dirtbike LB” Banton, on the other hand, was navigating life in and out of the streets. The turning point came in 2013 when Young Adz received a life-changing co-sign from New York legend Jadakiss. This endorsement led to the formation of D-Block Europe, with the collective initially including Young Adz and another rapper, Aero Sinc. Dirtbike LB later joined, fulfilling a promise to Young Adz to leave the street life behind.

Their early work included collaborations with Yxng Bane on the mixtape “Any Minute Now,” released in July 2018, which peaked at number 14 on the UK Albums Chart. This was followed by their debut solo mixtape “Home Alone” in February 2019, featuring the hit single “Kitchen Kings,” which peaked at number 16 on the UK Singles Chart and helped the mixtape reach number six on the UK Albums Chart.

DBE’s third mixtape, “PTSD,” released in September 2019, featured a host of prominent artists including AJ Tracey, Chip, Dave, and Lil Baby. The mixtape peaked at number five on the UK Albums Chart, further solidifying their presence in the UK hip-hop scene.

D-Block Europe continued their prolific output with the release of their debut studio album, “The Blue Print: Us vs. Them,” in 2020, and their fourth mixtape, “Home Alone 2,” in 2021. Their consistent success culminated in the release of their second studio album, “Lap 5,” in 2022, and the mixtape “DBE World” in 2023.

The collective’s most recent album, “Rolling Stone,” released in January 2024, debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, marking their first number-one album. This achievement extended their record as the rap artists with the most top-ten albums in UK history. With their relentless drive and ability to connect with audiences, D-Block Europe has firmly established itself as a force in the British hip-hop scene.
