Colton Dixon

Michael Colton Dixon, born October 19, 1991, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is an American singer-songwriter known for his bold presence in the contemporary Christian and Christian rock music scenes. He first captured national attention as a fan favorite on Season 11 of American Idol in 2012, finishing in seventh place. That exposure led him to sign with Sparrow Records, where he released his debut album A Messenger in 2013. The album soared to No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart, launching Dixon into a successful recording career. His follow-up projects, including Anchor (2014) and Identity (2017), continued his streak of inspirational music laced with powerful vocals and uplifting themes. In 2020, he joined Atlantic Records and released a self-titled EP featuring the breakout hit “Build a Boat,” which topped multiple Christian music charts.
