About Christopher Vélez

Christopher Vélez Muñoz, born on November 23, 1995, in Newark, New Jersey, is an Ecuadorian-American singer and songwriter, best known for being the first member selected for the Latin boy band CNCO, formed through the reality competition La Banda in 2015. Raised in Loja, Ecuador, Christopher’s love for music began at an early age. Although he dreamt of studying music abroad, financial challenges forced him to work multiple jobs, including as a shoe shiner, to help support his family.

At 19, Christopher returned to the United States to pursue his musical aspirations. His dedication paid off when he auditioned for La Banda, and his standout performances earned him a spot in CNCO alongside Richard Camacho, Joel Pimentel, Erick Brian Colón, and Zabdiel De Jesús.

With CNCO, Christopher experienced immense success, including the release of their debut album Primera Cita in 2016. The band went on to earn numerous accolades, including seven Billboard Latin Music Awards. However, in 2022, after seven years together, CNCO announced their breakup, allowing each member to pursue solo projects.

Now a solo artist, Christopher continues to engage with his fans through social media, sharing insights into his music and personal life. His journey is a testament to resilience, hard work, and unwavering dedication to his craft, inspiring many aspiring artists along the way.
