Carlo Waibel, better known by his stage name Cro, was born on January 31, 1990, in Mutlangen, Germany. A key figure in the German music scene, Cro has carved out a unique niche as a rapper, singer, and producer. His musical style, which blends rap with pop, is aptly named “Raop,” a genre that helped him stand out early on.

Cro’s journey into music began at the age of 13 when he started recording his own tracks and teaching himself to play the piano and guitar. His breakthrough came in 2012 with the release of his debut album Raop, which featured the immensely popular single “Easy.” The album’s success earned him major recognition, including awards such as the 1LIVE Krone for Best Single and the Bambi Award for Best Pop Artist.

One of Cro’s defining characteristics is his commitment to maintaining privacy, which is why he became known for wearing a panda mask during public appearances. This act allowed him to shift the focus entirely on his music. Outside of music, Cro has also ventured into the fashion industry, founding his own label, VioVio, in 2010, and has exhibited his artwork, showcasing his creative talents beyond music.
