Born on July 30, 1992, in the Washington, D.C. suburbs, he grew up in Northern Virginia, with Lebanese and Palestinian heritage influencing his musical style and worldview.

Anees pursued higher education at George Mason University, graduating in 2014 with degrees in philosophy and sociology. During his time in college, he discovered his passion for freestyling, using it as a creative outlet and a way to connect with others. To support himself, Anees worked as a pizza delivery driver, demonstrating his commitment to his craft while balancing work and study.

In 2014, Anees started uploading his music to YouTube, with his first release being the lyric video for “Neverland Fly.” His breakthrough came in 2021 with the hit single “Sun and Moon,” which topped the Billboard Philippines Songs chart, marking him as the first international artist to achieve such recognition. Beyond his music, he has cultivated a strong presence on platforms like TikTok, where he shares singing snippets and engaging content, amassing millions of followers.

Anees continues to use his platform to address important issues. In October 2023, he signed an open letter to President Joe Biden, calling for a ceasefire in the Israeli-Gaza conflict.
